A storm of Celtic rock makes its way to Music in the Park on July 8 with music from Tempest, who bring an extensive catalog that combines Irish, Scottish and Norwegian influences.

Tempest has performed for 23 in the Bay Area, and since the band’s creation in 1988 has experienced various lineup changes while releasing 15 albums.

Leif Sorbye is the lead singer and electric mandolinist from Norway, who formed the band based on a passion for rock ‘n’ roll and his love for folk music with Celtic influences.

The band has previous performed at the Dublin St. Patrick’s Day Festival and the Costa Mesa Scottish Games and Gathering. In the same fashion, Music in the Park is on the lawn in front of the Los Gatos Civic Center.

As an event sponsored by the Los Gatos community for the past 25 years, Music in the Park has brought a variety of noteworthy bands from various genres to Los Gatos. It is a free event that allows food and beverages for a picnic setting. There are also several surrounding restaurants that prepare special Music in the Park meals for take-out.
