Maybe it’s Don Draper and his hard-partying cohorts on “Mad Men” who are the culprits. One thing’s for sure is that the hat craze seems to be getting more fervent by the moment, and Los Gatos is not only ahead of the fashion curve, its very own Black Cat in downtown Los Gatos is setting the standard.
Owner Janet Dashiell continues to stock a steady supply of headwear that harkens back to yesteryear while providing current and fashion-forward hats all at once. And in keeping with her philosophy of empowering patrons with an individual look suited for them, she’s also preparing lovers of all that is haberdashery for the holidays. On Thursday, November 3rd, Black Cat hosts its 2nd Annual Pre-Holiday Party, replete with live music, champagne and oysters for those who want to gift hats of all sorts to friends and relatives (or perhaps treat themselves to an early stocking stuffer.)
Those attending the Pre-Holiday Party are encouraged to wear their own hats, but—given the breadth of Dashiell’s inventory—not wearing one and finding one(s) to their liking shouldn’t be an issue. Severe Pleasure provides the live tunes and Bill the Oysterman is ready to shuck his bounty freshly caught from the Monterey Bay.
